ANU Thrive Basketry Workshop

Come and join Rosie of ANU Thrive and learn how to make Raffia Baskets!

Join Rosie for a relaxing afternoon workshop at Kambri, and learn how to make baskets for beginners. It's simple when you know how!

This workshop is brought to you by ANU Thrive and will be held on the ground floor of Marie Raey Teaching centre. This event is open to both ANU Students and the Canberra community.

You will be guided through the making of coiled and stitched baskets using natural and other fibres, large-eyed needles and thread. Individual needs will be catered for and you can expect to be able to complete at least one small basket. Beginners will learn skills to create a simple vessel/basket shape!

Natural and alternative materials will be used. No experience is required. You will go home with hands on and research skills to be able to start your own project independently!

You will need to wear work clothes and covered shoes. All necessary tools and materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along specific materials you may prefer to use. Registration is essential.
