Wondering what the weather’s like in Canberra today? For a completely different perspective, check out the image stream coming in from the all sky camera at Mount Stromlo Observatory. It’s like lying on the bottom of a snow dome and looking up at the sky. The Observatory also runs regular astronomy public astronomy nights including star-gazing and the chance to talk with astronomers about, well, almost anything, really: cosmology, terraforming, Saturn’s lunar oceans, aliens, ….
Public astronomy nights are free and advertised in a range of media, including ANU Billboard.
