The rundown - information you need at a glance
|
- We've put together an easy guide to staying COVID safe on campus. Read it here
- Remote study options - we recognise that some students won't be able to return to Canberra and others will be unable to attend classroom teaching due to illness or health conditions. We've put arrangements in place to ensure you can continue learning remotely. Read more
- Don't forget to collect your free RATs and masks. Staff and students need to collect their own supply – unfortunately we cannot provide your allocation to someone else on your behalf. We've also released collection location opening hours from 18 to 24 February. Find out more
- We've made significant progress on improving ventilation in our buildings. Read the update here
- Check In CBR App - while new ACT Health guidelines only require check-in in certain settings, students are encouraged to continue using the App in all settings to assist with retracing movements in the event you test positive to COVID-19. Read more here
- The University will be providing parking refunds to those who held a pre-paid permit at the Acton campus from 12 August 2021 to 31 January 2022. You will be contacted by the Parking Office to process your refund. Read more

When should I use my P2/N95 mask?
|
While we don’t mandate the type of mask you wear on campus, we’ve provided P2/N95 masks as they’re the most effective at minimising the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Wearing a high quality mask is especially important in higher risk situations, for instance when you’re in a large group and can’t social distance. You can read more about different types of masks here.

When should I take a RAT?
|
We are providing tests to our community for the purpose of ensuring everyone has access to one if they’re symptomatic or have been exposed at a risk level that requires testing. We are not currently planning to conduct routine RAT screening. RAT tests can be used as an alternative to PCR testing in most circumstances. This video shows you how to use the ANU supplied RATs.

A window to our past
|
Geneticist Susan Serjeantson came to ANU in 1976 to join the Department of Human Biology in the John Curtin School of Medical Research.
"I was lucky enough to have been trained in human genetics at a time when we witnessed and participated in all the breakthroughs in DNA technology. It really was the best time to be alive as a geneticist."
