Our next Chancellor announced

The Hon Julie Bishop, former Australian government minister and politician of 20 years, will be our next Chancellor, replacing Professor Evans when he steps down at the end of 2019. The University is delighted to have Ms Bishop join our institution to help us carry forward our strategic goals into the future.

Campus Master Plan

A network of hubs linked by landscaped promenades connecting the campus to the Canberra CBD and a restructured parking system are some of the key elements of the University’s campus Master Plan, unveiled on Foundation Day.

Canberra Writers Festival

ANU is proud to be co-sponsoring the Canberra Writers Festival for another year! A number of our experts including Professor Hugh White, Professor Sally Wheeler and Professor Ian Chubb are participating over the four-day event. We are proud to be welcoming back ANU alumni to participate in the festival as well, including Sam Mostyn, Lee Constable and Sally Pryor.

Breastfeeding award

The Supporting Breastfeeding at ANU Working Group is marking World Breastfeeding Week with the presentation of an award to one of Kambri’s cafés.

Taejana’s connection to ANU

Taejana Allan never saw herself as going to university to study, but as an Indigenous trainee with the Human Resources Division, she’s developed a connection to ANU that is different to what most other young people would have. We caught up with the 2019 ACT Indigenous Trainee of the Year nominee.

Unfreezing and digitising works and cataloguing donated works to the collection are just some of the tasks our librarians have been busily undertaking as they work on restoring the library collection following the February 2018 flood.

Join him and Professor Elizabeth Blackburn as they talk about their life’s work at this special event as part of National Science Week.
