Dr Matthew Stocks

Fellow
ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics

Dr Matthew Stocks is a Research Fellow ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science. He has more than 20 years research and development experience in renewable energy and photovoltaics. His particular interest is in high efficiency photovoltaic solar cells, including tandem devices, and integrating high amounts of renewable energy in Australia's electricity network.

His other areas of research interest are renewable energy policy, pumped hydro energy storage and tandem solar cell energy yields.

Previously Matthew was Chief Technologist at Origin Energy Solar and then Transform Solar. His PhD studies formed the basis for deep understanding of silicon photovoltaic technology.

Key interests:

High penetration of renewable energy in electricity networks

Renewable energy policy

Pumped Hydro Energy Storage

Photovoltaic Energy and Solar Cells

High efficiency silicon devices, including IBC and SLIVER solar cells

Tandem solar cell energy yields

GaAs cells for concentrators and tandem devices
