Professional staff elections

26 March 2018

Under careful scrutiny from the assembled crowd, ANU Senior Auditor Morgan Hitchcock drew lots one at a time.

At stake? The order in which candidate names would appear on ballots for the upcoming election of professional staff to serve on the Academic Board and ANU Council.

All professional staff of the University were invited to nominate for these important appointments. This election will result in one Council position and two Academic Board positions being filled.

Professor Jacqueline Lo, who recently commenced her second term as Chair of Academic Board, praised the role of the Committee's professional staff during her tenure.

"They represent a significant portion of the University workforce, and often have unique insights that assist the Board's deliberations," she said.

"Our current professional staff have been invaluable members of both the Steering Committee and the Academic Integrity Working Group."

The elections are being managed by the Corporate Governance and Risk Office.

Details of the candidates are available through the respective Council and Academic Board election websites.

Staff eligible to vote will receive instructions via email when the polls open on Tuesday 9 March. They will have until midday 10 April to learn more about the candidates, and cast their vote.
