Hi everyone,
As the holiday season winds up it's great to see everyone returning to campus for the 2016 academic year. I am especially looking forward to welcoming our new students to campus in coming weeks.
I was in Davos, Switzerland last week meeting and speaking with many of the world's leaders in the fields of business, economics, politics and academia at the World Economic Forum.
ANU hosted a special Australia in Davos reception for the Australian delegates, and it was fantastic to see how well regarded ANU is by our nation's business and industry leaders. It was also great to see Minister for Finance Mathias Cormann and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Robb at the event.
Next week, things really kick into gear on campus. The staff welcome event will be held at 10.30am in Llewellyn Hall on Thursday 4 February and the inaugural 2016 Commencement Address will begin at 10am on Thursday 11 February on the University Avenue lawns.
