Important SELT process changes from Semester 2, 2020

Dear colleagues,

I am writing to inform you of some important changes to the Student Experience of Learning and Teaching (SELT) survey in 2020.

On 27 August 2019, the Academic Board endorsed a new student survey policy which makes it mandatory for course convenors to nominate teachers contributing to their courses. This aims to ensure students have the opportunity to provide feedback on all their ANU classes and teachers.

As you may know, these changes were initially due to take effect in Semester 1, 2020. In light of the difficult start to the year, this was postponed to Semester 2, 2020.

From Semester 2, 2020, course convenors are required to complete their SELT request eForms with a complete list of applicable teachers in their course. Teachers are defined as all academic staff who contributed 10% or more of the course delivery and may include lecturers, tutors, guest lecturers, instructors, etc.

If you are teaching a course at ANU this year, you may wish to speak to your course convenor to ensure that you are included in SELT.
