COVID-19 Staff Update - 24 March 2020

24 March 2020

Hi everyone,

I am writing to you from my home, where I am working today. Right now, we are not focused on doing business as usual. We're working out who needs to be on campus to deliver essential ANU services, and ensure arrangements are in place to enable everyone else to work from home. If you can work from home, please do so.

This email will cover:

  • Working from home

  • Teaching and Research continuity

  • What you need to know

Working from home

I know that working from home is a very different experience than most of us are used to. We will provide more information and guidelines about working from home tomorrow. In the meantime, please have a look at the information on the website, and the latest information below:

IT support

The IT team is currently experiencing a very high volume of enquiries. To help us manage this, please search the IT Knowledge Base prior to logging a ticket with the Service Desk as it will help to triage requests.

Update on Teaching and Research continuity

Earlier today, Professor Grady Venville provided an update on the remote teaching continuity plans for the University. I'd like to acknowledge the extraordinary work of our teaching staff to shift classes to remote learning. You can read the email update here and consult the teaching checklist here.

Professor Keith Nugent will provide an update on our research continuity plans later this week. In the meantime, researchers can consult the research checklist.

What you need to know

Thank you all for your patience as we work through these transition arrangements. Not everything goes to plan on the first try, but it will get better over time.
