We are all conscious that our health systems are under a lot of pressure around the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. Canberra Health Services (CHS) works closely with ANU and they have reached out to ask for our help from staff and students to undertake casual employment.
Qualified health care professionals - staff who hold a current health care qualification with a recognised regulatory body, particularly those with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or those employed in self-regulated disciplines.
Non-professional workforce - staff and students can provide support in administrative roles, wards persons and ward clerk roles, and couriers. You do not need to have any health qualifications.
All volunteers would be provided with the usual training and attention to personal protection by Canberra Health Services.
This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and help out during this time of need. This call is for employment to boost capacity of their workforce rather than volunteering as some may have done previously, and Canberra Health Services will provide onboarding and employment arrangements.
If you are interested in volunteering at CHS, please have a chat with your supervisor and then email CHS.Emergencystaffresponse@act.gov.au with a copy of your CV. The University will support you to undertake this placement.
If you are an ANU staff member and Canberra Health Services engages you to provide assistance, please email CommunityWellbeing@anu.edu.au so that we can put employment arrangements in place for you.
