The John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR) is committed to promoting Gender Equity in Science, and is aware of the problems faced in retaining and promoting female staff. Through the support of the JCSMR Gender Equity Committee, the School has established The JCSMR Gender Equity Award to support women in science.
The JCSMR Gender Equity Award will assist researchers experiencing extended career disruption as the result of the birth of a child, or the primary care of a child, as defined by the ANU Award for Parental Leave.
The JCSMR Gender Equity Award has been established in 2015 through an initial generous donation made by Professor Carola Vinuesa and will continue with the support of Mr Richard Miller and others, as funding permits. The JCSMR welcomes further donations to build and continue this important prize to support women in science.
