For Maliha Hoque, receiving a scholarship meant more than just financial support; it was also a tangible example of the valuable experiences she could look forward to at ANU.
After graduating as the youngest student from her high school cohort, Maliha relocated from Sydney to commence her ANU journey earlier this year with a finance and science double degree. She is the recipient of the inaugural Student Managed Fund Equity Scholarship, which is supported by the ANU Student Managed Fund (SMF).
"I am grateful to have been chosen to be the first recipient of the SMF scholarship. This scholarship means a lot to me, not only because it offsets the cost of moving interstate to study at ANU, but also I realise it's the result of hard work and the business acumen of my fellow students," said Maliha.
So far, she has found that her experience at ANU to be 'rewarding and interesting'.
"My academic experience at ANU has been amazing...I feel I will be equipped with the tools to provide a helping hand to those in need by the end of my degree," Maliha said.
Like Maliha, many CBE students in the SMF course are gaining valuable 'activity-based' learning.
The SMF has allowed me to develop my understanding of investment management through a student led and collaborative approach.
