The US election and the future of the Australia–US alliance

The 2020 US election has taken place in a time unlike any other - with a global pandemic still raging and amidst a shifting geopolitical balance of power.

The election attracted global attention and will have implications around the world for years to come. Our high-powered panel will discuss their reactions to the election and what it means for the future of the Australia-US relationship.

ANU Vice-Chancellor & President, Professor Brian P. Schmidt AC FAA FRS will welcome the Australian Ambassador to the United States, The Hon. Arthur Sinodinos AO, and the ANU Chancellor, former Foreign Minister of Australia, The Hon. Julie Bishop to provide their perspectives on the US election and the future of the alliance between Australia and the United States.

This event will be moderated by ANU alumnus and Director of the North American Liaison Office, Paul Harris. We welcome your questions for our distinguished speakers, which can be submitted in advance when registering or asked during the event.
