Professor Ed Byrne will visit ANU to deliver a public lecture on The University Challenge - changing universities in a changing world.
Professor Byrne will discuss how universities must and will change to meet the evolving needs of society in these challenging times.
Professor Ed Byrne is President and Principal of King's College in London. He began his career in Neurology after graduating with first class honors from the University of Tasmania in 1974. In 1983, Professor Byrne was appointed Director of Neurology at St Vincent's Hospital and Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Melbourne in 1992.
Professor Byrne was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences from 2003-2007, followed by his appointed as Vice Provost (Health) at University College London. Professor Byrne was admitted as an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2006 and a Companion of the Order of Australia, Australia's highest honour, in 2014.
