Musicians from the Canberra Symphony Orchestra join School of Music staff and students once more in 2019 to form the Side by Side Chamber Orchestra. Under the baton of distinguished conductor Max McBride, the Orchestra’s spring concert will present a program of beloved baroque, and inspiring new repertoire.
The world premiere of Andrew Ford’s The Sea and the Mirror, written especially for Tor Frømyhr (Concertmaster) and David Pereira (Principal Cello), will begin the evening. The audience will then be treated to Georg Matthias Monn's Symphony in E-flat major and Christian Cannabich's Symphony in E-flat.
Book now for an evening of musical brilliance, celebrating the collaboration of Canberra’s leading musical institutions.
'This was a concert of musical charm and delight. Every performer created beautiful sounds. This reviewer’s only complaint is that Canberra does not get to hear them side by side more often.'
