Moon Week: Space School

THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF APOLLO 11'S LANDING ON THE MOON. MORE DETAILS ABOUT MOON WEEK AT ANU IN JULY HERE

Through a range of activities, demonstrations, and play, students will explore our solar system and beyond alongside experts in the field from Australia and around the world. We will design and test rockets, do some explosions, simulate asteroid impacts, build a Mars base, try on spacesuits, and ask - what does it take to get to space? What is it like to be up there? And how can we learn more about space, when it's so far away?

Recommended age range: 3-13 years old (pre-school, primary school and early high school aged students). Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Space School will also run on Thursday 18 from 12-2pm and Friday 19 July from 11am-1pm. Register here for Thursday or Friday

Presented in partnership with ACT Government.
