Meet the judge: Justice Rachel Pepper

We are pleased to announce that Justice Pepper of the NSW Land and Environment Court will be holding a meet and greet with ANU Staff and Students. Justice Pepper will be speaking on her career path that began right here at the ANU College of Law. After graduating with Honours, Justice Pepper was the Associate to Justice McHugh on the High Court of Australia for one year. Justice Pepper then practised as a barrister at the NSW Bar until her appointment in 2009.

ANU is extremely privileged to be hosting Justice Pepper. Her experience with the law will be of interest to many. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

From 1997 until her appointment in 2009, Justice Pepper practised as a barrister at the New South Wales Bar. Her principal areas of practice were general commercial law and public law, including constitutional law. While at the bar, Justice Pepper was a member of Bar Council from 2000-2009 and was Secretary of the Bar Council from 2006 to 2009.

Prior to being called to the bar, Justice Pepper was the Associate to Justice McHugh in the High Court of Australia from 1996 to 1997.

She graduated from the ANU College of Law in 1994 with a First Class Honours degree.
