Finding the genes that protect us from infection

Professor Beutler is an immunologist and geneticist from the University of Texas South Western Medical Center, USA. He received one half of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Jules Hoffmann for their discoveries concerning the activation of innate immunity.

Professor Beutler is in Canberra as part of an international symposium celebrating 10 years of the Australian Phenomics Facility.

This public lecture is hosted by The Australian Phenomics Facility and the John Curtin School of Medical Research as part of the 16th Frank and Bobbie Fenner Conference.
