Fatherhood and Men's Mental Health Workshop

Over the last 10 years we’ve seen more research addressing the potential impact of fatherhood on men’s mental health in Australia. This workshop will summarise this work with a focus on the prevalence of depression and anxiety during the transition to fatherhood, and risk factors and correlates of psychological distress in fathers. The workshop will also explore the links between men’s, women’s and children’s mental health. Finally, we will discuss future directions for understanding changes in mental health during fatherhood.
We invite attendees from your research team or interest group to attend this workshop. Research students are also welcome. This workshop offers a valuable opportunity to shape the discussion surrounding men’s mental health and the transition to parenthood.
