CBE Teachers | Meet Professor Lin Cui - Business groups and their affiliates – why they exist and how they behave

Presented by ANU College of Business & Economics

Business groups are prevalent in Asian emerging economies. They are typically diversified across activities and industries that may not be related, which is at odd with the economic principle of specialization, a principle on which most successful Western enterprises are organized. In this talk I will give a snapshot on current research in the field (including a couple of my own studies) explaining why business groups exist and how firms affiliated with business groups behave.
