Canberra Candidates Climate Forum

Come and hear what the Canberra candidates of the Federal Election and renowned academics have to say on climate action policy!

PARSA is hosting a panel discussion bringing environment, energy and climate policy into focus. It will help deliver the political and academic perspectives of what the future climate policies should look like. The forum will be held in a Q&A manner with a moderator to ensure everyone gets to have a say. Come along on Tuesday 17 May for afternoon tea and a fascinating discussion on topics that are almost as hot as our planet.

Light refreshments will be served by Little Pickle Café from 4.15pm. All members of the Canberra community welcome!

Panellists confirmed so far include:

Professor Mark Howden, Director of the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions, Vice Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Chair of the ACT Climate Change Council.

Dr Sarah Milne, Senior Lecturer of the Resources, Environment and Development group, Co-host of the international Political Ecology Network (POLLEN) secretariat.

Professor Kim Rubenstein, FAAL FASSA, Independent ACT Senate Candidate, law professor at the University of Canberra, lawyer, citizenship expert, human rights advocate.

Mr Tim Hollo, Greens Candidate for Canberra, Executive Director of the Green Institute, Visiting Fellow at the ANU's School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet).

Ms Alicia Payne, Labor Candidate for Canberra, member of the Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS and the Public Account and Audit Committee in the Parliament.

Mr David Pocock has sent his apology but we are facilitating to play a pre-recorded video statement of his climate action proposals. At this stage, we are still waiting for confirmation from Mr Zed Seselja.

Dr Liz Hanna, PhD, MPH, BA, RAAN, RN, FACN, FPHAA, Chair of the Environmental Health Working Group of the World Federation of Public Health Association, Honorary Senior Fellow at the Fenner School of Environment & Society, Fellow at ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions.
