All ANU Staff are invited to engage in a University-wide consultation of a key component of the ANU International Strategy - the development of regional plans to set out the University's strategic initiatives in 8 geographic areas.
The ANU International Strategy was endorsed by Council in October 2019. Since then, groups of academic and professional staff have been working to define university level priorities for 8 geographical regions to enable us to bring the International Strategy to life.
We value the input of all ANU staff throughout this process. ANU is currently one of the world's most international universities. This international character is central to our identity and our founding mission, but now more than ever one we must nurture and grow to retain our distinct character.
What are the regional plans?
The working groups, comprised of a mix of academic and professional staff, developed internal-facing discussion papers outlining current and future opportunities for engagement in the regions. The papers were developed in alignment with the priorities and initiatives articulated in the ANU Strategic Plan and ANU International Strategy.
The purpose of the plans is not to capture all ANU activity in a region, the vast majority of activity will continue as it has before. These plans highlight university level priorities for regional engagement to maximise our impact. These plans do not cover student recruitment activities.
How will the consultation phase be structured?
There are two avenues to provide feedback on the regional plans.
- An interactive SharePoint will allow the regional plan content to be viewed by all staff and written feedback can be submitted.
- Series of nine 1-hour discussion driven webinars will run between 26 May and 11 June 2020. Please see the webinar sessions below.
Regional Plan SharePoint site
An interactive SharePoint site has been developed that will host a copy of the International Strategy, each of the regional plans and interactive data to provide context. This site will be available from 25 May - 30 June*. Written feedback can be provided via this site.
This site can be accessed by any ANU Staff member via SharePoint from 25 May. This site will not be available to the public.
*Update: The Regional Plan SharePoint will be available for staff to provide written feedback until 30 June 2020
Regional plan webinars
In parallel to the SharePoint site, a series of 9 webinars will allow for further discussion on the background and development of the plan based on how and where the ANU currently engages in the region. They will also provide an opportunity for ANU staff to ask questions and provide feedback.
The purpose of these sessions is to allow for broader consultation and provide an opportunity for ANU staff to understand how the plans were developed and the various levels of consultation they went through.
