An introduction to computational methods for economics and finance

Presented by ANU College of Business & Economics

 

On the morning of February 16th 2023, Thomas J. Sargent and John Stachurski will run a free two-hour workshop on modern methods in computational economics. Topics will include a review of state-of-the-art scientific computing environments and an introduction to macroeconomic and financial modeling using computationally-intensive techniques. The workshop will be hands-on and participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own laptops.

 

Refreshment will be provided.

 

About the speakers:

 

Thomas J. Sargent is a professor of economics at New York University and a 2011 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences.

John Stachurski is a professor of economics at the ANU and a co-founder of QuantEcon.
