The Young Alumni Council was established in late 2012, and has been chaired by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington. The recruitment process for Council membership identified 25 outstanding young alumni leaders in Australia and internationally, under 32 years old, to provide advice and leadership to the University on a number of activities including e-learning.
In 2015 the Council will take a more active role working with alumni in creating professional and social networks for the global alumni community, as well as future alumni. Its role, moving into its third year, will be to engage young alumni in relevant, meaningful programs and advocate the needs and interests of young and future alumni. Events run by the Council in 2015 will balance education, social and networking opportunities.
The Young Alumni Council is running a strategy planning session in February to plan their new vision and look forward to communicating their plan for 2015 with you through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn . If you have a suggestion of an idea/event/topic that the Council should discuss please email alumni@anu.edu.au.
A number of alumni are stepping down from the Council and we thank you for your contributions to developing the Young Alumni Council.
Further information on Young Alumni Council members is available on the alumni website or you can contact the Alumni Relations team by emailing alumni@anu.edu.au.
