ANU alumnus appointed to High Court bench

ANU alumnus the Honourable Geoffrey Nettle QC has been appointed to the High Court of Australia.

Justice Nettle will replace Justice Susan Crennan AC, who retires from the High Court early next year.

He studied at ANU in the 1970s, graduating with a Bachelor of Economics in 1973 before he went on to pursue law.

Justice Nettle has been a member of the Victorian Supreme Court since 2002 following a successful career as a leading Queen’s Counsel at the Victorian bar.
