Seattle: An Alumni Evening

Seattle alumni and friends we are coming your way!

The Australian National University is coming to Seattle and we would love to see you.

Join us at a reception hosted by Professor Brian P. Schmidt, ANU Vice-Chancellor, Nobel Laureate and wine maker. Meet other Seattle based alumni, learn about the exciting strategic initiatives at ANU and ask what you've always wanted to ask a Nobel Laureate.

Date: Monday 11 March 2019, 7pm

Location: The Washington Athletic Club, 1325 Sixth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101

You'll also get to hear about the first ANU innovation institute, The Autonomy, Assurance and Agency Institute (3Ai), and the work at the ANU College of Engineering & Computer Science to reimagine the role of engineering and computing in the 21st Century.

The 3Ai Institute, founded by Genevieve Bell, who is a Distinguished Professor at ANU, as well as a Vice President and Senior Fellow at Intel Corporation, is leading the world to tackle the complex problems emerging around artificial intelligence, big data, technology and their impact on humanity. The Reimagine project, led by Professor Elanor Huntington considers what our world will be like in 2050, when we are completely embedded in both a digital and physical environment. It encourages us to take charge and shape a new intellectual agenda.
