Alumni Awards nomination

Submitting a nomination

Nominations can only be submitted through the online nomination portal.

Nominations open on Friday 20 September 2019 and the first step of nominations close on Monday 21 October 2019 (midnight, AEST).

You will receive a confirmation message upon the successful submission of your nomination.

The nominations are a two-step process:

Step 1: Nominate an outstanding alumnus/a via our online form. In 200 words or less, please provide a persuasive statement on why the nominee should be recognised for this award. Shortlisting will be based purely on this statement, so please do not assume pre-existing knowledge about the nominee.

Step 2: Nominators will be advised if their nominees have been shortlisted and contacted for further information on the judging criteria. This will be a collaborative process with the nominee and the ANU Alumni Relations team. The selection committee will then receive the shortlist and determine the winners for each category.

Please note that all nominees will be informed of the outcome in December 2019.

Judging criteria

All eligible applications will be assessed on the extent to which they meet the following three criteria:

Impact: evidence and scale of the tangible impact and contribution the nominee has had in their profession, community or field of expertise;

Service: evidence the nominee is committed to bettering the lives of others in their community or society in general through their professional or volunteer efforts; and

ANU: the influence of ANU on the nominee's career and achievements, and examples of how the nominee has stayed involved with the University community.
