Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Governance Framework Review consultation

Published 2022

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Governance Framework at ANU has been under review, and the community consultation period for the review report has now closed. An updated version of the proposed way forward for the Framework will be uploaded to this page in May 2022, along with a summary of feedback received.

ANU established the IDEA Governance Framework in 2019 to unify work underway across the University in support of inclusion, diversity, equity and access principles, and to drive change, culture, policy and practice improvements across colleges and portfolios.

In July 2021, the Senior Management Group (SMG) of the University approved a review of the operation of the IDEA Framework to reflect on its inaugural two years of operation. This report outlines the key findings of the review and proposes how the Governance Framework should be restructured and refocused to best enable ANU to realise its equity and inclusion vision as detailed in the ANU 2025 Strategic Plan, while improving the effectiveness and efficiency of its operations.

Staff and students were able to provide feedback between 1 March 2022 and 1 April 2022, either anonymously or confidentially, as an individual or as a group. Staff and students who have been a part of the IDEA Governance Framework as committee or working group members have also been engaged regularly to provide feedback on the review.
