I would like to join Council in service of the ANU community because I'm passionate about helping people reach their potential and helping to create a kinder, more inclusive academy. I'm well known for my strong ethical stance on transparency and fairness, which I bring to everything I do. As a sector, higher education is entering a very difficult time. The university is its people: but some are more easily forgotten than others. I want us to support all our people, including the precariously employed. The current crisis is a slow burn and the effects will be with us for years. Decision making is going to be complex. We need creative thinking and vision and I can bring these qualities to the role, along with my research background in higher education policy and practice.
