Mongolian Ger

Presented by ANU College of Asia & the Pacific

Join us for interactive sessions in the Mongolian Ger. The Mongolian Ger, also known as a yurt, is a tent structure held together by ropes and cow hides and is used for shelter by the nomadic tribes in Central Asia. The Ger was special a gift from His Excellency Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia to support the Mongolia Institute at the ANU College of Asia & the Pacific. The ANU Language Diversity group will be running workshops in the Ger including hands-on Chinese, Sanskrit, Mongolian and Japanese calligraphy. You will also have the opportunity to hear from current students about their language studies highlights. Make sure to immerse yourself in this rare cultural treasure.
