If you are interested in the science of the Earth, then the ANU Research School of Earth Sciences is the place for you. RSES is one of the world's top fifteen institutions for Earth and Marine Sciences. The intensive research culture of RSES provides students with state-of-the-art facilities, learning from and working with staff of the highest calibre.

The Master of Earth Science (Advanced) allows a mix of a research project with course work covering a wide range of topics: geophysics (geodynamics, geodesy, seismotectonics); geochemistry (thermodynamics, petrology, tectonics); and Water and Marine Geoscience  (climate change, coral studies, sea level changes, and groundwater). Coursework will provide basic skills such as analytical techniques, data analysis and research methods as a major component of this program. The research topic will be discussed on entry.

The program provides the opportunity to gain a wide range of knowledge and skills that are relevant for employment in industry, government agencies, education as well as further University studies. The mix of research and coursework is a major advantage, as it will allow you to follow either a research path or an industry path as you progress with your career.
