Applying as a domestic postgraduate coursework student

We have a lot to offer for graduate students. If you already hold an undergraduate qualification, such as a Bachelor Degree, you are ready to apply for graduate study.

A graduate degree is designed to deepen your knowledge, expand your skills, and equip you for a successful career in your field.

ANU graduate coursework programs include Master Degrees, along with a range of graduate Certificates and graduate Diplomas. Some coursework programs may involve a research component or large project

Step 1
Check your eligibility

Before you can apply for a postgraduate coursework degree, you need to already hold or be about to complete a Bachelor Degree. Some programs require you to demonstrate a certain academic average, such as a credit or distinction average.

All students, whether domestic or international, must meet the minimum English language requirements for admission.

Your first step is to check the program requirements via the Programs & Courses website.

Step 2
Apply

You will need to submit your application through the Universities Admissions Center (UAC).

Applications generally take between 4-6 weeks to assess.

You can list up to six preferences on your application, however in some cases you may only receive one offer. This offer will be the highest preference that you list, as long as you’re eligible. So when you submit your application, remember to list your programs in the order in which you would like to receive an offer.

Already completed your Bachelor Degree?

If you graduated from an Australian university, UAC will be able to access your results in most cases. However, you may be asked to provide transcripts or other documentation, so it is a good idea to prepare your records just in case.

Still completing your Bachelor Degree?

You can still apply before you complete your Bachelor Degree if you are in your final year, and you must advise UAC in your application. You may need to provide a copy of your academic transcript directly to UAC as soon as you complete your degree. UAC will provide instructions during the application process.
