ANU International Baccalaureate Early Entry Scheme

The ANU International Baccalaureate (IB) Early Entry Scheme offers early entry to Year 12 school leavers currently completing the International Baccalaureate qualification within Australia or New Zealand.

Eligibility

You can apply for the ANU IB Early Entry Scheme if you:

  • Are attempting to complete an International Baccalaureate Diploma within Australia or New Zealand in the year prior to your commencement at ANU, and
  • Submit an application to ANU via Universities Admissions Centre (www.uac.edu.au) before the application deadline. 

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed on your predicted IB results, which must be provided by your school to ANU.

Eligible programs

The IB Early Entry Scheme is available for all ANU Bachelor degree programs, however prerequisites and additional selection criteria may also apply.

How to apply

Submit an undergraduate admission application through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) by 28 September 2018, list your current qualification as the International Baccalaureate and, have your preferred ANU program as your first preference in your UAC application.

Offers

You will receive an early conditional offer if your IB Early Entry Scheme assessment is successful after review by the ANU Admissions Office. Visit Programs and Courses for program requirements.

1 August - 28 September

Applications submitted to Universities Admissions Centre

You will need to submit an undergraduate application through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) before 28 September, listing your current qualification as the International Baccalaureate.

 

28 September

List your preferred ANU program as your first preference in UAC

 

20 October

Deadline for schools to enter IB predicted results to International Baccalaureate Information System (IBIS)

 

21 October

ANU will request IB predicted results

The IB will alert the schools whose students are qualified to apply for the Early Entry Scheme to send predicted IB scores to ANU

 

22 October - 31 October

Schools to send predicted IB scores to ANU

Schools will send the predicted IB scores entered into the International Baccalaureate Information System (IBIS) to domestic.admissions@anu.edu.au and ANU will begin assessing applicants for consideration under the ANU IB Early Entry Scheme

 

7 December

Pre-offer advice letter issued to eligible applicants

Pre-offer advice letters will be sent to all eligible IB Early Entry Scheme applicants directly from ANU, including which ANU program they are eligible for

 

3 January

IB Final Results Released

 

6 January

ANU preference listed first in UAC

List the program on your pre-offer advice letter as your first preference in UAC

 

11 January

Offers Released

Provided you achieve a final IB aggregate score within 3 IB points of your predicted score and you are still awarded an IB Diploma, you will retain your preferred program eligibility. Offer will be released through UAC January Round 1.

 

11 January - 21 January

Change preferences if you want to be considered for further ANU offers

Applicants can change preferences in UAC after 11 January to be considered for further offers (depending on program vacancies) using their final results (and any applicable adjustment factors). The change of preference deadline for January Round 2 offers is 21 January.
