More information about the timelines can be found at offers and timelines.

How and by when do I accept my accommodation offer?

Please follow the instructions provided in your formal offer of accommodation carefully. The offer will contain information on how to accept and make payment for your accommodation, as well as the deadline for acceptance. Should you encounter any difficulties while accepting your offer, please reach out to our team so we can guide you through the necessary steps and offer solutions to any issues you may face.

What fees do I have to pay to accept my offer?

Your acceptance payment will vary depending on the residence you are allocated to and will be the sum of the following fees:

  • Registration fee (for new students only)
  • Refundable deposit
  • Resident Committee Fees

Can I extend the date to accept my offer?

Due to the high demand for our on-campus accommodation and ANU's commitment to providing as many students as possible with this opportunity, we are unable to extend the acceptance dates stated in your official offer of accommodation letter. If you encounter any difficulties with accepting the offer or making the payment, please contact our central team so we can talk you through the next steps.

Can I change my mind after I accept my offer and paid my acceptance fees?

In the event that you have accepted your offer but later decide to cancel, you will need to terminate your contract. To do so, please contact the Residence from which you received the offer and inform them of your decision. The team will provide guidance on the contract cancellation process, including the necessary steps to follow Additionally, we recommend reviewing clauses 10 and 12 of your Occupancy Agreement for further information.

Please note that processing applications takes time and offers are released on rolling basis. However, if you are concerned about your offer, please contact us so we can verify if you have a completed your accommodation application. While we welcome your application for on-campus accommodation at any time, your application may not be eligible for accommodation guarantee if you submit your application past the guarantee deadline. Offers for non-guaranteed applications will be issued on rolling basis as spaces become available.

Can I change my preference?

Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make any changes. We recommend you conduct a thorough research and consider your specific needs and budget before selecting your accommodation preference. However, we understand your circumstances may change. When should I arrive at my Residence and what do I need to know before move-in day?

We kindly ask that you carefully review the start date of your contract as indicated in your offer letter. In the event that you plan to arrive outside the contract start date, please inform the Residence of your planned arrival date in order for them to make the necessary arrangements for you. Please remember that your residence may not be able to accommodate you prior to your contract start date so ensure you plan your trip carefully. Should you decide to arrive after your contract starts, you remain liable for all charges for your accommodation from the start date of your contract, not your arrival date.

Furthermore, your Residence will provide you with important pre-arrival information via email once you have accepted your offer of accommodation.

For more detailed information, we recommend referring to the moving in checklist and prospectus, residential handbook, and guides. These resources will provide you with helpful tips and guidance to ensure a smooth transition into your new accommodation.
