Undergraduate International - Defer or Decline

If you have submitted an application and you need to delay the commencement of your studies to a later intake, you must submit a new application. You are not able to request for your current application to be assessed for a later intake once it has been submitted.

If you reapply

If you reapply for a later intake, your current application and any offer you hold will be cancelled. Your new application will be assessed against the academic and English language requirements for the later intake. Note that your English language test (e.g. IELTS) or prior studies may no longer meet the English language requirements for admission, even if they did previously, as time limits apply.

In order to avoid paying the application fee a second time, you will need to indicate in your new application when prompted that you are a previous ANU student/applicant and enter your ANU ID (e.g. U6543210). If you are not sure of your ANU ID, you can contact ANU Admissions and provide your full name, date of birth and current application number in order to be reminded of your ANU ID.

Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to receive a new offer, even if you received an offer for an earlier intake.

How to decline an offer

To decline your offer, simply send an email with your name, date of birth and application details to ANU Admissions.

If you have paid a tuition fee deposit, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund.
