Leonard Broom Scholarships

Overview

This scholarship is offered by the National Centre for Epidemiology & Population Health in the ANU College of Health and Medicine.

Research at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Populations Health (NCEPH

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be:

  • an Indigenous Australian; and
  • currently enrolled, or intending to undertake, a Master of Philosophy (Applied Epidemiology) at NCEPH; or
  • currently enrolled, or intending to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy program at NCEPH.

Selection basis

  • previous academic results
  • research potential
  • the merit of the research proposal

Benefits

The value of thestipend component of the scholarship will be determined annually.  There may be an additional allowance of up to $10,000 for reimbursement of travel, conference and/or fieldwork.

Further information

The duration of the scholarship is two years for a Masters of Philosophy student and 3 years for a Doctor of Philosophy student.  There is no provision for an extension beyond this.
