ANU College of Business & Economics Changing Futures Scholarship

Overview

Each year the ANU College of Business and Economics may offer an award known as the ANU College of Business and Economics Changing Futures Scholarship.

The objective of the award is to strengthen educational outcomes for students both in terms of skills development and preparation for further study or employment, improve equity access figures for the University, and raise awareness of the acute disadvantages that some students face in accessing university education.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

  • is an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident, or holds an Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa, Bridging Visa E (BVE), Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV) (subclass 790), or Temporary Protection Visa (subclass 785);
  • achieved an ATAR or equivalent of 70 or above - including any Educational Access Schemes (EAS) bonus points;
  • attended High School and/or has their permanent address in a regional area as defined by post codes that are outside of capital cities (as per the Australian Bureau of Statistics classification of Geographic Statistical Divisions); or
  • has low or medium access to tertiary education from their home; or
  • has experienced financial need; or
  • has faced circumstances that could pose a serious and sustained challenge to their ability to participate at university.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are encouraged to apply.

Benefits

The duration of the award will be up to three years, depending on the program in which the recipient is enrolled. The scholarship will be valued at $12,000 in the first year of the scholarship and $5,000 per annum for each of years 2 and 3. The award will be paid in two equal instalments, during each year of the award.
