About this scholarship

 

Each year, the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistic ('RSFAS') within the ANU College of Business and Economics ('CBE') may offer an award known as the RSFAS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship ('the Award').

The objective of the award is to attract high calibre students who have completed a Year 12 qualification in Australia and are applying for admission to the University for the first time in programs offered by the CBE Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics. 

Funding for this Award has been provided by the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics.

Eligibility

 

The award is available each year to a commencing ANU student who:

  • is a domestic student; and
  • has received an offer for admission to a single or flexible double undergraduate degree program offered by RSFAS within the College; and
  • has a minimum ANU Selection Rank of 95.

Additional information

 

The scholarship is valued at $5,000 per annum. The award is paid in equal instalments at each semester providing the recipient meets the ongoing scholarship eligibility of maintaining a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or above each semester.

The duration of the Award is for up to four years of full-time study (maximum of 192 units). The Award payment will align to the recipient's academic study load. For example, 24 units of enrolment constitutes 100% award payment; 18 units' enrolment constitutes 75% award payment, etc. 
The Award will be paid after the census date of each semester unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

The recipient is responsible for making payment of all tuition fess by the prescribed date as set out by the University each session. Recipients of the Award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.

There is no separate application as students applying through UAC are automatically considered based on them meeting the eligibility criteria or conditions prescribed under the eligibility section.

Students who have applied for admission to the ANU in a previous intake, and then formally deferred their offer my still be considered for this award along with the commencing cohort. These students will need to contact the College Scholarships Office to request consideration of the award.

The scholarship will be available in Semester 1 intake only.
