National Security College Entry Scholarship for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island Students

Overview

Each year the National Security College may award a partial tuition scholarship known as the National Security College Entry Scholarship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Students.

Eligibility

The Scholarship shall be available to an applicant who:

  • Is of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • has completed a Bachelors degree
  • has been offered admission to the Master of National Security Policy or Master of National Security Policy (Advanced)
  • is not the recipient of a College sponsored place.

Selection basis

The committee will consider excellence in academic achievement as the key criterion in making its decision. Consideration may also be given to any other factors, such as prior work experience, which the Selection Committee considers to be appropriate and in line with the College’s strategic direction and priorities. For students in employment, the Committee may seek confirmation of employer support for the study.

Benefits

The Scholarship covers the full domestic tuition fee for up to 50 per cent of College courses required to complete the program.

How to apply

Applicants must provide:

  • A statutory declaration or Confirmation of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Islander Descent Form
  • A statement of aims of no more than 500 words to support their application
  • A current Curriculum Vitae of no more than 3 pages
  • Two (2) academic written references.

Semester 2* 1 March - 30 June

*The Scholarship will normally be offered in first semester; however, if not taken up, the College may offer a Scholarship in the second semester of that year.
