Garrurru Postgraduate Indigenous Scholarship

Overview

The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific is delighted to invite Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to apply for the Garrurru Postgraduate Indigenous Scholarship.

Up to three scholarships will be available each year.  Each scholarship offers a stipend and pastoral to support postgraduate Indigenous students to study at the ANU College of the Asia and the Pacific. The scholarship is offered to eligible students whether they decide to study an entire degree or just a course with the College.

Field of study

All courses offered by the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific.

Eligibility

All potential and current postgraduate students of the ANU who identify as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent are eligible.

Applicants may be enrolled either full-time or part-time in any postgraduate coursework degree program offered by the College of Asia and the Pacific or any other college of the University. However, to receive the stipend, students must enrol in at least one 6-unit course offered by the College of Asia and the Pacific whilst studying their chosen degree.

Benefits

The scholarship provides a stipend of $2,500 for every 6-unit postgraduate course studied within the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, up to a total value of $40,000-the equivalent of an entire master's degree

A defining feature of this scholarship is that its stipend can be used for any number of study support purposes, for example; accommodation, textbooks, transport, childcare, course fees or other costs associated with undertaking their course or program of study. The scholarship money will be paid to students upon enrolment who may then choose to use the funds in whichever way will support their individual study purposes most appropriately.
