Chappell and White PhD Scholarship

Overview

The Chappell and White PhD Scholarship provides students with the opportunity to further their field and laboratory research skills in Earth Sciences. This scholarship will be awarded each year to the most outstanding PhD candidate applying to study Petrology, including Ore Petrology.

Benefits

The scholarship provides a supplementary scholarship of $6,500 per annum for up to 3 years for a student who has been awarded a base stipend scholarship (eg. APA, URS etc...)

For students not holding a base stipend, the scholar can claim up to $6,500 (or an amount stated in the letter of offer) for research expenses.  This will be paid as a reimbursement on the scholar providing receipts

No application is required specifically for this scholarship as all eligible candidates will be considered.

Further information

In order to be considered for this scholarship in the main round of scholarship offers International students are required to apply for admission by 31 August. Domestic students are required to apply for admission by 31 October.  The College may elect to award this scholarship at anytime throughout the year.

Applicants are also strongly encouraged to make contact with the relevant Graduate Studies Convener or a prospective supervisor, prior to lodging an application, to discuss the proposed research topic and related matters.
