Bicycle3. Program Transfers

3.1 Program Transfer Information

Students wishing to transfer from one ANU program/degree to another must apply to the Enrolments Office using online Application for Program Transfer form.

Do not apply through UAC for internal transfers at the same level (e.g. undergraduate to undergraduate).

Students are not permitted to transfer from an undergraduate level program/degree to a graduate level program, or vice versa. Students wishing to apply for a program of a different level than the one they are currently studying will need to apply in the same way as an external applicant. See section 1 for more details.
Students who transfer into a new program will normally be liable for the fee structure applicable to the year the transfer takes affect. In many instances this will mean an increase in fees.
Students intending to transfer to graduate in a different program from the one in which they are currently enrolled must transfer before the commencement of the semester in which they wish to graduate.

Semester/Session Program Transfer is to Take Effect
Application Deadline
Semester 1 2009 12 December 2008
Semester 2 2009 5 June 2009

Late applications will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances and only on payment of a $125 late application fee and provision of a statement explaining why the late application should be accepted. Acceptance of late applications is at the discretion of the Manager, Enrolments and Student Records.

Applications for program transfer will not be accepted after:

8 February 2009 for Semester 1 transfers
4 July 2009 for Semester 2 transfers

Students enrolled in Part A and Part B of a course may not transfer into a new program until Part B is complete.

The Enrolments Office will advise you of the outcome of your application and your new enrolment date by email. If you do not enrol in your new program by the specified date, a late enrolment fee of $125 will be charged. Transferring students are encouraged to seek academic advice prior to enrolling in their new program. If you wish to apply for Credit (Status) for courses from your old program, you should indicate this on the Application for Program Transfer Form. It is your responsibility to apply for credit for the new program. Credit will not be applied automatically.

Unless otherwise advised, enrolment registration in the new program must be completed by:

30 January 2009 for Semester 1 transfers
26 June 2009 for Semester 2 transfers

Students will be advised of the outcome of their program transfer application by email to their ANU student email account.

Until you are formally advised that your transfer is successful, you must meet all the requirements of your current program including enrolling by the due dates and paying any fees. If your transfer is successful, your enrolment in your old program will be removed along with any fee liability. Any fees already paid may be refunded or credited towards your new program fees.
