Review of Final Grades for Courses

If you wish to query your results you should take the following steps:

  1. Raise the matter informally with the member of staff responsible for the assessment of the course, usually the lecturer or Course Authority.
  2. If after consultation, you believe that there are grounds for a review of the result, you should discuss with the Delegated Authority of the relevant college.
  3. If you still believe that the result in the course is inappropriate, you may submit a formal appeal of result to the relevant college Dean. The appeal should be accompanied by appropriate information and documentation.
You must lodge your request within 30 days of the publication of the result.
  4. It is the responsibility of the Dean of the college running the course or program to investigate the matter and ensure that the assessment has been properly and fairly carried out. You are entitled to a statement of the reasons for the final decision.

It is in your own interests to ensure that any request for a review of a final grade is lodged as soon as possible after you receive formal notification of your results.

For further information see the policy Assessment Review and Appeals and the Examinations Rules.
