2. Enrolment

2.6 Non-Standard Sessions

ANU has four non-standard sessions:

Session
Normal Session Dates
Summer Session 1 January - 31 March
Autumn Session 1 April - 30 June
Winter Session 1 July - 30 September
Spring Session 1 October - 31 December

Note: The session in which a course is scheduled is determined by the session in which its census date falls. Therefore it is possible that courses may start and/or finish outside of the normal session dates as listed above.

Non-Standard Session Courses

Courses taught in the non-standard sessions tend to be intensive or short courses. Most courses taught in non-standard sessions are taught at Graduate level, however, there is an increasing number of Undergraduate courses being offered.

Course start and end dates and the duration of classes determine individual course Census Dates. Census Dates for intensive courses are viewable on the Study@ANU website. Enrolment deadlines apply to these courses and no class can be added after the Census Date, even if teaching commences later in the semester.

Students who drop a course after the course Census Date will remain liable for the tuition fee or student contribution amount for the course.

If you are unsure about non-standard session course deadlines, please contact the Enrolments Office to clarify.
