2.10 Enrolment in Non-Award Programs

Haydon-Allen BuildingNon-award students are those granted permission to enrol in courses without enrolling in a program leading to an award. Tuition fees are levied on non-award courses except where they are to be counted towards the award requirements of a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) in a program at another institution (cross-institutional enrolment) or where the student is undertaking a recognised University Exchange Program with an overseas institution.

Note: Graduate coursework students from other institutions enrolled at ANU on a non-award/cross-institutional basis will normally be charged full tuition fees.

Note: Undergraduate students from other institutions enrolled in courses at ANU during the Summer Session may be charged full tuition fees.

Application Procedure

Continuing non-award students should re-apply for 2009 by lodging an Application for Non-Award Re-Enrolment: Previously Enrolled Students Only form with Student Administration Services by 30 January 2009. The relevant College authority approving enrolment in the courses must sign the form.

If applicable, you must lodge a supporting letter from the Registrar of your home institution advising that the courses in which you wish to enrol for 2009 have been approved for inclusion in the program at your home institution. The letter must also state what category of Commonwealth assistance you are receiving. If your letter of authority is delayed, you should submit your enrolment form by the due date and submit the supporting documents as soon as possible afterwards.

Enrolment forms received after 30 January 2009 will attract a $125 late fee.

Cross-institutional students must make their case for admission in writing to the relevant College as cross-institutional places are limited.
