A Scholarship is awarded on the basis of past achievement
with the expectation of future achievement. You must apply for a Scholarship.

| ANU National Undergraduate Scholarship |
These scholarships are available for award to recent school leavers who have achieved outstanding Year 12 results.
2010 Application
No application is required. All eligible applicants to ANU will be automatically considered.
Selection criteria
Awarded to eligible students who have achieved an ATAR score of 99.90 and above (no bonus points).
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humantarian visa, and
- be studying an Australian Year 12 or New Zealand NCEA or International Baccalaureate in 2009, or
- completed Year 12 or equivalent in 2008 and did not enrol in a tertiary program in 2009; and
- have put at least one ANU program as a preference through the Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT).
You do not have to:
- have ANU as first preference
- restrict your program choice
- be interviewed for scholarship selection
- send your Resume/CV
Art and Music
There will be one NUS available for Art and one for Music.
Selection will be made from those immediate school leavers (including those who have taken one year off) who are offered a place in Art and Music undergraduate programs on the basis of outstanding achievement in the selection procedures which include assessment of portfolio for Art and audition for Music. Students enrolled in combined programs will be considered.
Value
$12,500 per year as a contribution towards accommodation, tuition and other education expenses for the duration of the chosen undergraduate program.
Number available in 2010
All eligible students who obtain the required ATAR score will be made an offer.
Retention
Recipients must maintain a minimum of a Distinction grade average (70 per cent).
Accommodation

Deferral

These scholarships are available to recent school leavers who achieved excellent results in their Year 12 qualification.
2010 Application
No application is required. All eligible applicants to ANU will be automatically considered.

Awarded to eligible students who have achieved an ATAR score of 99.75 - 99.85 (no bonus points).
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humantarian visa, and
- be studying an Australian Year 12 or New Zealand NCEA or International Baccalaureate in 2009, or
- completed Year 12 or equivalent in 2008 and did not enrol in a tertiary program in 2009; and
- have put at least one ANU program as a preference through the Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT).

| ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences Regional Undergraduate Scholarships |
Every year the College of Arts and Social Sciences will award a number of undergraduate scholarships for students from regional areas of Australia.
To be eligible, students must have applied (via UAC) to enrol in the first year of a single Bachelor of Arts degree program offered by the College of Arts and Social Sciences on a full-time basis.
The scholarship will be awarded for a combination of academic achievement and contribution to the community.

| ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Women's Award |
The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science will offer a limited number of scholarships to female students who achieve a UAI above 95 and who are enrolling in Undergraduate programs offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
To be eligible students must be Australian/New Zealand citizens, or holders of a Permanent Resident Visa in Australia.
Eligible students will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

| ANU Environment Scholarship |
A number of scholarships will be available in 2009 for undergraduate students from outside of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory region who enrol in an environment-related program.
Eligible programs are:
- Bachelor of Science,
- Bachelor of Science (Advanced),
- Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Management),
- Bachelor of Science (Forestry),
- Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability),
- Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability) Honours,
- Bachelor of Global and Ocean Sciences (Honours),
- Bachelor of Philosophy; and associated joint programs.
Requirements
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian Permanent Resident,
- reside outside Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory region,
- have taken subjects or have life experience relevant to the study of the environment,
- be an immediate school leaver, or have taken a gap year and not enrolled in any tertiary program during that time,
- be intending to enrol in one of the above specified programs,
- be intending to complete at least one environment-related major,
- achieve an ATAR of at least 95, or equivalent.
Value
$10,000 per annum.
Duration
One year.
Retention
Scholars must maintain a Distinction (70 per cent) average each semester.

| ANU International Undergraduate Scholarship |
Each year The Australian National University offers a number of scholarships which cover tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) premiums.
Applicants must be immediate school leavers and can apply for any program at the University.

Full tuition fee sponsorship for duration of chosen program, plus 100% cover of Overseas Student Health Cover.
Eligibility
The scholarship is open to any international student who has recently completed secondary school studies. Students who have commenced further studies are ineligible.
This scholarship is extremely competitive and is awarded to applicants who have achieved excellent results in their secondary school qualification.
Below is a brief guide of the minimum senior secondary scores expected for applicants to be seriously considered:
- All India Senior School Certificate (AISSC): All A1 in your best 4 externally examined subjects
- Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE): 17.5
- Indian School Certificate (ISC): 99
- International Baccaulaureate (IB): 41
- Sijil Tinggi Perskolahan Malaysia (STPM): 23
- UK or Singapore General Certificate of Education (GCE A Levels): 17
- University Admissions Index (UAI): 99.40
- USA Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): 2326 approx.
Qualifications not listed above will also be considered.

| ANU Plant Science Scholarship |
There will be a number of scholarships available for students who have taken subjects or have life experience relevant to the study of Plant Science in their schooling. Preference may be given to students from rural and regional areas. Application process will be competitive and include an evaluation of ATAR, as well as a short essay on why you are interested in plant science.
Value
$6,500 per annum.
Duration
May be for a maximum of 8 normally consecutive academic semesters.
Retention
Scholars must maintain a minimum of a Distinction (70 per cent) average each semester.
Requirements:
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident
- have taken subjects or have life experience relevant to the study of Plant Science
- be an immediate school leaver, or have taken a gap year and not enrolled in ay tertiary program during that time.
You may also be eligible if you have completed one or two semesters of an academic program either at ANU or another institution having taken relevant courses to Plant Sciences.

| ANU Region Scholarship |
The University offers a number of ANU Region Scholarships every year. Normally one scholarship for each Region and one At Large Scholarship are offered.
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humantarian visa, and
- be studying an Australian Year 12 or New Zealand NCEA or International Baccalaureate in 2009, or
- completed Year 12 or equivalent in 2008 and did not enrol in a tertiary program in 2009; and
- have put at least one ANU program as a preference through the Universities Admission Centre (NSW & ACT); and
- have attended or be attending school in one of the following areas: Highlands; South-Coast; Wollongong; Yass, Goulburn and Queanbeyan; South-West and Western Slopes and Plains.
If your school postcode falls within the following postcode groups, you are eligible to apply: 2500 - 2554; 2568 - 2599; 2619 - 2633; 2640 - 2681; 2700 - 2731; 2790 - 2820; 2830 - 2830; 2845 - 2850; 2864 - 2871; 2875 - 2877; or
- be completing Year 12 in Victoria or New Zealand for consideration of the At Large Scholarship
Selection criteria
Awarded to eligible students who have achieved an ATAR score of 90.00 and above (no bonus points)
and can demonstrate involvement and leadership in school and/or community activities, supported by 2 referees.
Referee reports: must be received by the closing date of 30 November 2009.
Value
$6,500 per year as a contribution towards accommodation, tuition and other education expenses for a maximum of 4 years.

| College of Business and Economics International Merit Scholarship for Commencing Students |
The College of Business and Economics will offer up to 10 half tuition scholarships for one year for commencing international undergraduate students at the University. Some scholarships are reserved for ANU partner institutions in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Applicants should complete an International Undergraduate Scholarship form and be applying for addmission to the University for the first time. Successful applicants are those that performed at a very high level in the final year or years of schooling.
