Undergraduate Scholarships

A Scholarship is awarded on the basis of past achievement with the expectation of future achievement. You must apply for a Scholarship.

ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences Honours Scholarships

Every year the College of Arts and Social Sciences offers a number of Honours scholarshps.

To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled at a University other than the Australian National University, in a program of study leading to the award of a Bachelor of Arts degree, or in a combined degree program leading to two degrees (one of which will lead to the award of a Bachelor of Arts degree).

As an external student you must apply for direct admission to ANU and also fill out the Faculty of Arts Honours Application form OR the Visual Arts Honours Application form.

Applicants will be automatically considered for this scholarship if they apply for the ANU Honours Scholarship. There is no application process or form for the CASS Honours Scholarships.

ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences Regional Undergraduate Scholarships

Every year the College of Arts and Social Sciences will award a number of undergraduate scholarships for students from regional areas of Australia.

To be eligible, students must have applied (via UAC) to enrol in the first year of a single Bachelor of Arts degree program offered by the College of Arts and Social Sciences on a full-time basis.

The scholarship will be awarded for a combination of academic achievement and contribution to the community.

ANU College of Business and Economics International Merit Scholarship for Commencing Students A number of scholarships are available for international undergraduate students in the College of Business and Economics. Click here for more information. TBA N/A
ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Women's Award The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science will offer a limited number of scholarships to female students who achieve a UAI above 95 and who are enrolling in Undergraduate programs offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

To be eligible students must be Australian/New Zealand citizens, or holders of a Permanent Resident Visa in Australia.

Eligible students will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

ANU Cricket Club Scholarship A scholarship of $3000 available from time to time for award to the candidate who: meets the academic requirements for entry to an undergraduate degree program, has cricketing ability attested to by two referees, and whose permanent home is in rural or regional Australia. ANU Enterprise Access Scholarship

ANU Enterprise Access Scholarships are available to students with a permanent disability.

Two scholarships of $2,000 per semester for six semesters are available for undergraduate students who can provide medical and supporting evidence of a permanent disability.

ANU Enterprise Chemistry Scholarship Two scholarships, valued at $1,200 and $800, are available to be awarded each year on academic merit to the students who achieved the second and third best results in first year Chemistry, who undertake twelve second year units of Chemistry and are enrolled in a program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science. There is no application process.

ANU Environment Scholarship A number of scholarships will be available in 2009 for undergraduate students from outside of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory region who enrol in an environment-related program.

Eligible programs are:
- Bachelor of Science,
- Bachelor of Science (Advanced),
- Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Management),
- Bachelor of Science (Forestry),
- Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability),
- Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability) Honours,
- Bachelor of Global and Ocean Sciences (Honours),
- Bachelor of Philosophy; and associated joint programs.

Requirements
To be eligible, you must:

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian Permanent Resident,

- reside outside Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory region,

- have taken subjects or have life experience relevant to the study of the environment,

- be an immediate school leaver, or have taken a gap year and not enrolled in any tertiary program during that time,

- be intending to enrol in one of the above specified programs,

- be intending to complete at least one environment-related major,

- achieve an ATAR of at least 95, or equivalent.

Value
$10,000 per annum.

Duration
One year.

Retention
Scholars must maintain a Distinction (70 per cent) average each semester.

ANU Foundation for Visual Arts Scholarship

The ANU Foundation for Visual Arts Scholarship is available to successful applicants for an undergraduate degree program offered by the School of Art in the College of Arts and Social Sciences. The scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding applicant in any area of expertise of the School as determined by the Selection Committee.

A person must be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or holder of a Permanent Visa in Australia to be eligible for the scholarship.

All new undergraduate applicants will be automatically considered, and therefore will not be required to formally apply for the scholarship.
