Query or appeal results

If you wish to query your results you should take the following steps:

  1. Raise the matter informally with the lecturer or course coordinator

  2. If you are still dissatisfied with the results after having discussed it with your lecturer or course coordinator, you should discuss it with the Head of the relevant Department or School.

  3. If, after discussion, you are remain dissatisfied, you may wish to formally appeal the result by submitting, an outline of the reasons for your appeal in writing, to the Prescribed Authority responsible for the program. You can find out who this person is from your School or Faculty office. It is usually the Dean or Director of the Faculty/School/Centre. You must lodge your appeal within 30 days of the publication of the result.

  4. The Dean of the Faculty responsible for the course will investigate the matter and make a final decision. You will receive a formal statement of the Dean's decision.

For further information see the Assessment Review and Appeals policy and the Examinations Rules.

For help and advice with your appeal, you can consult the ANU Students' Association (ANUSA), the Postgraduate and Research Students' Association (PARSA) or the Dean of Students.
