All invoices will be available in ISIS to view or download. An email will be sent to your student email account when your invoice has been published. It is your responsibility to ensure that any external email address linked to your student email account is active at all times. Please check your student account on a regular basis as this is the way the university will correspond with you.

Coursework programs

Graduate programs offered as Commonwealth Supported Places

Some of the Colleges at the ANU are able to offer their Graduate students Commonwealth Supported Places, but these places may be limited and are based on merit. This means that eligible students will be charged at the Commonwealth supported rate of HECS instead of as full fee paying students. Please contact your College for further information.

Australian citizens, permanent humanitarian visa holders

Australian citizens and holders of permanent humanitarian visas enrolling in a graduate coursework program are required to pay Domestic Tuition Fees (DTF) and are also eligible for a government loan to help with meeting your fees. The Loan is called FEE-HELP

You can pay your DTF in one of three ways:

If you would like to take up the option of the FEE-HELP loan, you will need to complete an electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form ('e-CAF') when you enrol through ISIS. You will also need to supply your Tax File Number (TFN). Your e-CAF MUST BE COMPLETED by the first course census date that you wish to defer, or you will be liable to pay the fees yourself by the due date.

All graduate students who have chosen not to take a FEE-HELP loan and who are paying their entire fees up front will receive an email advising that their invoice is available in ISIS to download or view early in each semester which sets out their DTF liability.

Students who wish to pay their DTF up-front or partially up-front must do so by the due date or you will incur a $125 late fee.

Students who wish to defer paying their DTF and instead take the FEE-HELP loan will have their loan amount notified to the Australian Taxation Office. Within 28 days of the census date, a Commonwealth Assistance Notice (CAN) will be made available in ISIS for download. The CAN is under the menu and is called an eCAN. The CAN shows how much your FEE-HELP loan is for. You should keep a copy of your CAN for taxation purposes.

New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents (excluding humanitarian visa holders)

Citizens of New Zealand and permanent residents of Australia (not including humanitarian visa holders) enrolled in a graduate coursework program are required to pay Domestic Tuition Fees (DTF) up front and in full. Holders of permanent residency visas may be eligible for a government loan (FEE-HELP) to help pay their DTF if they are undertaking a bridging program for overseas trained professionals.

You will need to pay your DTF by the due date or you will incur a $125 late fee.

International students

International Students are required to pay full tuition fees (International Student Fees ISF) and are not subsidised by the Australian Government.

Research programs

Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, including holders of humanitarian visas are considered domestic students.

The University currently enrols domestic students under the Research Training Scheme (RTS). These students are exempt from paying tuition fees. Research Fees - Domestic

International Students

International research students are required to pay full tuition fees which are charged per program. The cost per unit is dependant on the year of commencement.
