SAS Enquiries Counter

The Student Administration Services Enquiries Counter is the first point of contact for student enquiries. Most enquiries we can assist with, otherwise we can tell you where you need to direct your enquiry. The counter is located at:

SAS Enquiries Counter
Pauline Griffin Building (11)
THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
ACT 0200 AUSTRALIA

Why do I need to go to the SAS Enquiries Counter?

The enquiries counter offers many services including:

  • student card updates or replacements
  • purchasing academic transcripts
  • payment of tuition, administrative and brick fees
  • enrolment information
  • advice on administrative deadlines and procedures
  • general administration enquiries

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Note: Payments cannot be taken after 4:00pm each day.

Who works on the counter?

The staff who work on the counter are all full time Student Administration Services staff.

Staff who work in Admissions, Enrolments, Fees, Examinations, Graduations and Scholarships all rotate shifts on the counter, and in total there are about 25 staff who rotate shifts.

All of the areas above are located in (or very near) the Pauline Griffin Building. Chances are when you come in for an enquiry, the staff member will work in the area you need assistance with. If not, they will contact the area for the answer or call out a staff member from that area to assist you.

What else can I do there?

ANU Web
We have computers in the front foyer area with the ANU website so that you are welcome to use. Note that they are not connected to printers.

Internal Phone
There is a phone in the foyer that you are welcome to use if you wish to contact an area directly (eg if you wish to call the Examinations area because you have made an appointment to submit your thesis). There is a list of our area phone extensions so feel free to use the phone instead of queuing at the counter if you like.

International Office
The Student Recruitment and International office is located downstairs on the Lower Ground Floor of the Pauline Griffin Building. This is where international students can go if you have an enquiry relating specifically to international students.

Certification of Documents
Staff who have worked at ANU for 5 years or more are available to certify documents. This is a free service, and there are several staff in Student Administration Services who are able to certify.

Providing that staff are available, then they can usually certify documents for you when you come in. If you have a large amount of paperwork then you may have to arrange to collect it in a few days.

If staff are not available in Student Administration Services to certify documents, you will need to have them certified elsewhere.

NOTE: ANU transcripts cannot be certified by Student Administration Services staff. This is because official transcripts are issued at SAS, so we therefore cannot certify them as well. Original academic transcripts are certified documents and we are able to provide you with additional original copies for a charge. Click here for more details.
